Method
Step 1
Whisk together the Sesame Honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth.
Step 2
Pat the salmon fillets dry with kitchen paper and season lightly with black pepper. Brush each fillet generously with the glaze.
Step 3
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat with a drizzle of oil. Place the salmon skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets) and cook for 4–5 minutes.
Step 4
Carefully turn the salmon over, brush with more glaze and cook for a further 3–4 minutes until the fish is cooked through and beautifully caramelised.
Step 5
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, sliced spring onions and fresh coriander. Serve immediately with lime wedges, jasmine rice and steamed vegetables.
Chef's Tips
- Leave the salmon at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking for more even results.
- Avoid moving the fillets too much while cooking to help them develop a beautifully caramelised glaze.
- Add an extra drizzle of Sesame Honey just before serving for a glossy restaurant-style finish.
- Pair with pak choi, tenderstem broccoli or sugar snap peas for a balanced meal.
